Final Goodbye and End of Life Celebrations

Celebration of Life, Memorial and Funeral Services

Celebrations of Life, Memorials, Final Goodbye and Funerals are ceremonies that honor our dearly departed and celebrate their lives. These ceremonies are also for the living as they provide an opportunity for family and loved ones to gather in shared grief, practice meaningful rituals that bring comfort and healing, and a place to say a final “Goodbye”.

There are many ways in which family and friends may choose to observe the Final Goodbye of their loved one, including a Celebration of Life, a Memorial or a traditional Funeral. Green and Natural Burials are also a beautiful ceremony when available.

Celebration of Life is a common practice these days, focusing more on celebrating the life and the love shared with the deceased. Celebration of Life, as well as Memorials can take place in a house of worship, someone’s home or another place of the family’s choosing.  These celebrations can occur just after death, or a few weeks or even months after death when it is more convenient for the family to gather.

Secular, Religious and Interfaith Celebrations, Funerals and Memorials may take the shape or format preferred by the family. The service can incorporate a combination of traditions, practices and belief systems that reflect the lifestyle of the departed as well as those who are saying goodbye.

Meaningful readings, songs, poetry and prayers of the family's choosing can be offered at the service, reflecting the unique life of the departed.

As an interfaith Minister, I find a most meaningful expression in officiating the Celebrations of Life is keeping the legacy and beliefs of the departed as the main focus of the services. This may mean emphasizing spirituality over religion, and even a blending of faith systems or no particular faith system at all. A Celebration of Life should capture the true essence, passions, joys, and triumphs of the individual who has passed. Let me help you design a ceremony that is heartwarming, even in a time of sorrow, connecting family and friends with cherished memories, deep gratitude, and even  moments of laughter and joy as you say your final goodbye.

Counseling Services

As a Mental Health Therapist, as well as an Interfaith Minister, I am able to assist in grief counseling if needed or desired by family or a loved one who has suffered loss. That counseling can even be available for the person coming to the end of their life.

Counseling can be available before the loss of a loved one, or after the loss.
These services are typically covered by health insurance.
Please reach out if you are in need of grief counseling, even if I have not been the one to perform Celebration of Life services for your loved one.
